STATISTICAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN & CHILDREN

The Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing many schemes, policies and programmes for the holistic growth of women and children. While such initiatives are being undertaken by the ministry there is always a need for statistical information which can help in deciding upon policy decision, strengthening programme interventions, outlining the key performance indicators, to assess the requirement of capacity building initiatives and plan strategic interfaces for convergent actions.

The Institute has initiated the proposal for compilation of Statistical Publication related to women and children. The Institute is working on a comprehensive database of all statistical information that is related to Women and Children. This information or statistics would be compiled from the data that is available from within Ministry of Women and Child Development as well all line ministries. The information would be useful for policy makers, academicians, trainers, media and other functionaries. Data sharing options along with the integration of the data into dash boards would be done in order to make the data more user friendly.

Under this Heading Data links from UNICEF, ILO and other agencies have been linked which may not be a good option as Govt of India Institutions cannot endorse these web pages. Also when the Govt of India data is already available on www.data.gov.in and ndap.niti.gov.in, is there a need for a separate website.
