Scheme for Internship for PG/ Research Students
The aim of the Internship Scheme is:
- To familiarize the interested and willing PG/ Research Students with the overall process of training and research in Women & Child Development schemes and Programmes
Scheme for Internship for PG/ Research Students refers to a structured arrangement offered by the Institute to provide practical work experience to students pursuing their post-graduation / Research. The programme is designed to offer students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, gain relevant skills, and explore potential career paths. Internship scheme also include a combination of hands-on work experience, mentorship, training sessions, and networking opportunities. The primary goal is to facilitate the professional development of participants while also benefiting the organization by engaging with fresh perspectives and potential future talent.
As per the guidelines of the Scheme, every year the Institute invites applications for Internship from Post Graduate / Research students in the prescribed proforma through their head of the Department/ Institute addressed to the Director, SPNIWCD New Delhi.
Guidelines and Salient Features of the Scheme
- Internship will be available to Post graduate/ Research students, who are willing to have an exposure/ familiarization to overall processes involved in the child development, women development, ICDS Training, voluntary action and Counselling.
- Each intern will be provided with a minimum logistic support.
- The intern would be attached with any of the Additional Director/ Joint Director incharge of specialized Divisions, ie., Child Development, Women Development, Training and Public Cooperation and Regional Directors incharge of SPNIWCD regional Centres located at Bengaluru, Guwahati, Lucknow, Indore and Mohali.
- Interns may also be sent to different States/ UTs to study the functioning of AWCs, Children Homes etc.
- Duration of Internship shall not be exceeding a period of two months.
- Entitlements: Honorarium of @ Rs.2500/- per month for a post graduate student and @ Rs. 5000/- for a Ph. D. student for maximum of ten students in a financial year, for a period not exceeding 2 months will be payable at the end for local transport and other contingency for their contribution in Institute’s work.
- Certificates will be issued to the interns at the end of their Internship.
- Director, SPNIWCD shall select the suitable interns for placement in various divisions of Headquarters and Regional Centres of the Institute.
